The children

Children are the actors in their own lives.
The focus is on the child and their basic need to explore, understand, and actively shape the world.
From the beginning, children shape their relationships, their development, and their environment by expressing their needs and feelings. Children are independent individuals with their own interests and ideas, and we take them very seriously as such.
The children’s center wants to offer all children a wide range of impulses, incentives, and support that they need on their way to becoming self-determined and socially competent individuals. Mutual acceptance and mindfulness are the foundations of our interactions. The children’s natural curiosity, self-activity, and independence are the driving force behind perceiving and exploring their environment, events and situations, observations and experiences, and thus also themselves. Children do this through play and exploration – because playing is every child’s main occupation.

We offer plenty of space and time so that children can take and create their own spaces for play. That’s why there are only a few selected toys in the children’s center.

We see ourselves as companions in the children’s developmental and educational processes. Designing the atmosphere in the children’s center and in the forest daycare, addressing and selecting topics that are important to the children, and promoting communication and exchange are therefore central tasks for us in order to positively promote the children’s educational processes.

We support and encourage all of the children’s self-education processes from the beginning, incorporating all areas of education and orienting ourselves towards the Hamburg educational recommendations.
