Information on the voucher system
The daycare places are co-financed by the city of Hamburg via vouchers. Part of the childcare costs is financed by the city. The amount of the family’s own contribution is calculated by the responsible youth welfare office depending on the family income.

Vouchers must be applied for at the responsible district youth welfare office. All children of elementary age (3 to 6 years) have a legal right to a maximum of 5 hours of care daily, regardless of whether the parents are employed or in education.

For all other children: The entitlement to the voucher amount is based on the parents’ daily working hours. The family’s contribution to the childcare costs is determined by the youth welfare office depending on income. In order to assess the individual family situation, we are happy to offer parents personal advice on this topic if required.

Quality management
Since 2006, the Kinderhaus has been participating in a network with six other daycare centers in Hamburg in the process of quality management according to the GAB procedure.
Accompanied by the Pedagogical-Therapeutic Center, we reflect on our pedagogical work in a process-oriented manner,
review the pedagogical qualities and develop them
further. In June 2010, we successfully brought the QM process to a first official conclusion within the framework of the GAB procedure: During a joint audit in the Kita network, the Kinderhaus – in addition to 6 other participating Hamburg Kitas – was awarded the quality seal of the GAB network Hamburg.
The first re-certification took place in 2012.
The process of developing our pedagogical quality as well as the quality of our
institution as a whole was reviewed by external specialists (Pedagogical-therapeutic
Center and GAB Munich) and confirmed with the QM seal in the GAB network Hamburg.
